In Memory of Mark Lomas
We are saddened to share the news of the passing of local photographer and historian, Mark. His loss is felt across the community, and our thoughts are with his family and close friends during this incredibly difficult time.
Having grown up around Bugsworth Basin, Mark had a lifelong connection to the area. We remember sharing conversations with him about his younger memories, climbing among the basin ruins when the basin was still an abandoned industrial landscape.
He has helped us piece together old images and come up with theories of what was, from an era that documented very little.
Mark’s passion for local history and his keen eye as a photographer were invaluable to capturing and preserving the heritage of the village.
Mark was a true custodian of Bugsworth’s history, and his contribution to the community’s story will not be forgotten.
He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
