The Navigation Inn: Let’s Get The Local Back Open!

The historic Navigation Inn, sitting directly on the vibrant wharves of Bugsworth Basin. (Click to expand)

With increasing worry The Navigation Inn will never see its doors open again.

It’s been sat there completely locked up for over a year now, and frankly, it’s a real shame to see it dark (for the first time in living memory?).

Why the Basin Needs Its Heart Back

The Navigation isn't just any old building; it's the centerpiece of Bugsworth Basin. When it's up and running, it’s a brilliant asset for the area and a much-needed hub for the community:

📌 For the Villagers: They have missed having a central meeting spot, a proper pint, a nice bit of lunch, and a comfortable place to catch up with neighbours.

📌 For Bugsworth Visitors: The Basin welcomes thousands of walkers, many canal boaters, campervans, day-trippers, and holidaymakers every single year. They are always looking for a welcoming spot to sit out by the wharf and take in the beautiful scenery.

📌 A Fantastic Setup: The property features six lovely ensuite letting rooms to bring in tourist trade, a massive beer patio, and it is entirely Free of Tie—giving a new operator complete freedom over their food and drink menus.

Spreading the Word

There is an absolute mountain of local goodwill just waiting for a people-oriented operator to come in, give the place a well-deserved lick of paint, and open the doors wide once again.

If you know a dedicated, friendly operator who would love to breathe life back into a legendary Peak District pub with a built-in, supportive crowd, please do pass this on. Let's work together to get our local back.
